The first short term exchange of groups of pupils took place in Bendinat from the 29th to the 2nd February 2019.
On the 1st day delegations had an hiking excursion on the mountain with our experts.
In the afternoon coordinators and teachers had a meeting about project planning and next activities to be done.
On the 2nd day there was a workshop with Erasmus students and teachers to define the details of the project website. Later on the power points and the movies prepared by the project students were presented in the school theatre. In the afternoon the host school organized a Round table on the Disabled sports with the President of the Disabled Sports Federation of the Baleares islands. The guests were Joan Munar ,ex student of our school, paralympic sportsman, Carmen Soler, triathlete and marathon sportsman with visual problems.
Xavi Torres, Paralympic swimmer, Guillermo Morey, founder of the wheelchair basket team, Toni Pomar,
representative of the Disabled Sports Federation of the Baleares islands. The round table will be conducted
by Jose Manuel López, student of the vocational training ADF31B.
On the 3rd day there were some swimming activities in Son Caliu. All the sts were involved and they had to swim as if they were disabled. In the afternoon the delegations visited Valldemossa, Deià, Soller.
On the 4th day all the students had a sailing activity for disabled in the Andratx yacht club and later in the afternoon they had an excursion to visit the talayotics archeologic runes of Capo Corp and Son Fornes.
On the 5th day all the sts had a cultural Tour in Palma with students of AFD31 vocational training to check architectural barriers.
The participants were the four delegations composed by 5 students and 2 teachers plus abous ten teachers of the local school and all the sts involved in the project.
About 200 hundred students of the school had the possibility to take part in the Round table and they were
particularly astonished by the experiences of Xavier Torres, a Paralympic swimming champion in several
categories with 16 medals, 5 gold and various world records. Medal for sports merit in Spain and France. He has participated in 56 international openings. He has studied teaching at the UIB and has a journalism master degree amongst others, in fact, has a very broad curriculum. He is currently sports commentator at Eurosport. He is a national Olympic and Paralympic swimming coach, collaborator with Unicef since 1995.
Mari Carmen Soler Lliteras who was born blind in Palm and she attracted the attention talking about her
experience in several sports. The table was moderated by Jose Manuel López, a long-distance solidarity
sportsman. He described his incredible experience when he crossed the Strait of Gibraltar and part of
Morocco by bicycle amongst others. He has made several IRONMAN, and one of them with a British
Paralympic hand bike champion.
Students had the possibility to know each other and compare their experiences and work together.
